Let the battle commence May 3rd.

Have your say!

Dear Editor,

Well, I have read with some interest the different views and letters of those participating in the local election events this coming May.

Well who do I believe, frankly none of them.

Certainly none of the current PC will get my vote so I guess that someone new will win this tick in the box.

To be honest I am fairly disgusted at the current mud slinging that has begun from one corner of the PC or another. Nothing really surprises me any more as I feel that most have let this growing village down badly.

The squabbles over finance and the lack of resolution to any village issue that rarely amounts to anything more than are they ever going to get tarmacadam and a foot path on the Village Hall car park. Any sensible councillors would have had this resolved years ago. Lets face it how long has it taken them to paint a white line in front of the village shops.

Yes, I have a moan but I am entitled to as I pay my taxes and vote at regular events. Did I want to stand , Frankly NO.

Once again we see the local councillors pounding the street in support for their vote, but too little too late I say.

I hope that Cllr P Smith gets back on the PC as at least this guy will fight for what is right for the village, and on many occasions stands up and tells that to the PC at their monthly meetings, which is more than some others can say.

Financially I think the PC could have done better, especially with all the development going on and could have certainly made Hawkinge a better place to look at !

Why do we need another sports centre on the other side of the A260 ? We can't fill the one we have now. Sort out the issues that are restricting its use, such as the low lighting and get 5-a-side soccer and basket ball in there. How about a Gym ?

What was the Partnership offices ever built where they are and why were they not based in the Community Centre ? and lastly before I retire here is my wish list for the village.

A proper coffee shop

A hairdressing salon

A street sweeper and someone to pick up the litter by the shops

New flower beds and pots that would be pleasing to the eye.

A policeman that patrols from 14:00 - 22:00

A village green with benches all around and a few more shrubs

Well that's my rant, see you on the 3rd May.

Good luck JJ.!

Edvard
