Re: Nobody has 'stepped on my toes'

Thank you Mr Callaghan for advising me to check my facts.

I never actually said that you were a member of the Lib Dems, but I did say you were a Lib Dem councillor. You were elected as such for this area 4 years ago. It could be said that in view of having resigned the party whip and constituents voting for you as Lib Dem you would have resigned as a councillor, but I see that you are still a Shepway District Councillor.

Regarding the 'independent' issue; you say in your letter that you 'witnessed party politics and dogma actually destroying the basic principle of local government'. So why did you jump straight into another political party? For that is precisely what the Shepway Independents is - according to the Electoral Commission, it is a registered official political party!

Come on Mr Callaghan, stop masquerading as something you are demonstrably not - independent!
