Members were invited to take part in a question and answer session where amongst the many and varied questions were ‘ The use of soot in the garden and How to look after Sweet Peas’.

Peter Linkin also congratulated those members who had recently taken part in The Inter Society competition against Newington; although we were beaten by Newington the Hawkinge club had entered 156 entries to 134 entries from Newington.

The next meeting for the gardeners is on Wednesday May 2nd and the speakers for the evening will be Mr and Mrs Jeff Wagner with a talk entitled ‘ Phantasmagoria’.
