The black and white blackbird which has been seen recently in the Cowgate Lane area of the village has finally been snapped by an eagle-eyed reader.

Peter Hogben sent in the picture taken in Cowgate Lane, Hawkinge. He admits the quality of the photo could have been better,  but he assures us he will try harder next time.

Commenting on the blackbird in the penguin suit he said: "At least it confirms unusual creatures come to Hawkinge."

Did we ever doubt that strange creatures come to Hawkinge?
