Just stumbled on this site while looking for other local things on Google.

Firstly I feel that Hawkinge is let down badly.

We have a useless by-pass that has roundabouts and traffic lights.

Then we have an area of land that is set aside for industrial use right next to houses.

Then we have the facilities, or lack of! One Tesco Express, a small bakers and not much else really to support. I don't know how many houses there are now.

Then we have the nice view from where I live of a heap of soil and some rooftops appearing closer. The airfield is now closer than ever before - great view of the countryside!

The lanes such as Elvington and Gibraltar Lane get used as rat runs every morning. When walking the dog I have to stop nearly every minute to let a car pass - this never used to happen.

I feel this village has gone to ruin.

If you look at the bigger picture, the developers have all gone off and done their own thing, and were left with individual clumps of houses that have no community feeling and everyone is detached.

Also the use of speed bumps on roads like Page roads, should not be allowed.

I felt that this seemed a good site to post these kind of comments on, and I hope some of them get mentioned or listened to one day, just like we told the council planners about 10 or so years ago when we mentioned all these problems.
