Officers mess land - 'should have BMX track'

Have your say!

Dear Editor,

Re: Shepway could lose out on £2.5m land sale

With reference to your story on Siskin Close, I wish to make two points.

Firstly according to Peter Smith of the Parish Council, this land should have a BMX track on it.

I even have a letter stating this from 2002 as part of the Hawkinge Activities and Adventure Limited charity actions for recreational and sporting use of the land. The reason the ground was sold to them in the first place.

Secondly if you check the council records the Hawkinge Activities and Adventure Limited first applied for planning permission in 2003 and this was declined by Hawkinge Parish Council and it is Shepway Council who have overruled them.
