Martial arts expert, 47 year old Colin Carrott, who runs the Hawkinge Spitfire Judo Club has recently returned from the World Masters Sambo Wrestling Championships in Moudania, Greece with a World bronze medal.

In the Men’s 45–49 years, u90 kilo class, Bronze medal fight, Colin took the decision, winning 4pts to 3pts in a very close match against a French opponent.

Colin, lives in Folkestone but trains at Sittingbourne where he is one of the senior coaches at the Sittingbourne Young Judo Club and Warriors Grappling Academy.

His two sons were members of the Hawkinge Judo club, and it was that which prompted him to take up the sport in 1994 when he was 34.

As well as the Hawkinge Spitfire Judo Club, Colin also runs the Capel Le Ferne Judo and Grappling Club.
