Sergei Tserkassov

Police are appealing for help to trace the movements of a man who went missing last Tuesday night, and whose body was found at the beach in Sandgate near Folkestone on Saturday morning.

52-year-old Sergei Tserkassov was last seen alive leaving his home address in Millfield, Folkestone at 8pm on Tuesday 2 January.

His body was found on Saturday morning (6 January) among rocks on the beach near the Lower Sandgate Road.

Anyone who saw Mr Tserkassov between these times is asked to contact Det Sgt Kev Gurr on 01303 289417.

He is described as a white man of Estonian origin, of slim build, with receding dark brown/grey short wavy hair and side burns.

He was wearing a dark blue zip top with red and white colours in it, black trousers, a dark green coat with a hood, and brown lace-up shoes.

Police are not treating this death as suspicious at the present time.

A post mortem is due to be carried out tomorrow, and the Inquest is due to be opened on Thursday.
