Is the £1b school building programme a 'smokescreen'?

Have your say!

Dear Ed,

Re:Local schools share in £1b bonanza

Well any extra money to improve the decrepit schools our children are taught in, is most welcome, but where exactly is the money coming from?

These partnerships won't be solely about providing a more suitable place for children's education. What is in it for them?

Are these partners , multi-national fast food chains, that will expect advertising unhealthy eating in schools on posters and sponsorship deals. They usually expect their partners, in this case KCC to also put money in.

Just where has the money miraculously been found to fund such a project by the KCC, and what if any other services will be have to be cut or done away with altogether!

Or is this the 'smokescreen' to cover up forthcoming beyond inflation council tax increases!

Before we start to get to carried away , we should know the full facts of who is involved and where this money is coming from.

As my old granny always used to say, 'you don't get 'owt for nowt'.

I may sound some what cynical, but in my experience I have found when dealing with councils government bodies or politicians, it is the best course until you know otherwise.

Regards

Algernon
