CCTV FOR HAWKINGE CRIME HOT SPOTS

Dear Ed,

With reference to the latest act of vandalisation of the seven or so trees in Page Road wouldn't it be a good idea if the odd CCTV camera be erected/placed on the roundabout which joins Haven Drive, Page Road, The Churchill School.

One camera could sweep around covering all these areas  including the 'mound or hill' where lots of children seem to congregate to play. It need o­nly be switched o­n from say dusk till dawn.

And who is going to fund the idea I hear you ask? 

Well, the Hawkinge Parish Council have just found £5,000 to help the 'White Elephant' known as the Community Centre so why can't they find some funds to try and protect the local area.

Or maybe Pentland Homes should have been made to provide some funds to help provide it? 

Or maybe the Local Community Police Officer could perhaps spend some time in the evening patrolling the 'hot-spots'.

By the way has anyone seen him?
