HOWZAT FOR A FUN DAY
Fun was not confined to the Hawkinge Fun Day celebrations in the village on Saturday( 16 September).
Hawkinge Cricket Club had their very own special day to celebrate a grant of £9,000 grant from Kent County Council.
County Councillor Susan Carey presented the cheque and praised the club.
She said: "Hawkinge Cricket Club is a real asset to the area.
"As well as its sport activities it has an active social membership and its Bonfire Night party is one of the highlights of the year. It has done great work in building its youth membership which now stands at 60 and it well deserves the support it has received from Kent County Council."
