Outpouring of vitriol from Folkestone and Hythe Tory HQ...

I know I've been banging on of late about the disused St Peter's Church in Swingfield, but the words horse, dead and flogging keep springing to mind. The future of the Church has been spelt out clearly by the Diocesan Board of Finance. They have stated categorically that the redundant church will never be a community and visitor centre.

So why I ask, are the Friends of St Peter's Church continuing to raise funds and where is this money going?

I hear there are dissenting voices in the parish too, but as yet there are no revolting parishioners.

I wonder why local Tories are having such a go at that nice Peter Carroll.  The local Lib Dem front man who failed to unseat Metal Mickey at the last General Election has for some reason brought about an outpouring of vitriol from Folkestone and Hythe Tory HQ.

On their website they claim that he is to put his name forward as a district council prospect for the area.

They ask: 'Has Mr Carroll finally given up fighting the Folkestone and Hythe parliamentary seat after his less than successful record? or have Lib Dem bosses in London finally decided they need a new candidate to offer some sort of resistance to Michael Howard’s successor, Damian Collins?'

Is the possibility of a  Carroll and Beaumont ticket making them nervous or is it merely an excuse to have a swipe at the opposition in an attempt to stave off the chance of a re-united Lib Dem party which could easily flex its muscles and elbow the current administration out of power?
