HAWKINGE CRIME UPDATE...

Jewellery including initialled rings were stolen in a burglary at a bungalow in Coombe Wood Lane in Hawkinge between 5th and 8th August.

Local police are still concerned about the number of homes they see with open windows, and insecure doors, as these account for around a half of all burglaries and could be avoided.

They have been calling at such homes to offer crime reduction advice and to hand out leaflets offering practical advice.

Burglaries have taken place in the following areas due to insecurities:

1. Garden Road - Folkestone

2. St Andrew's Close - Folkestone

3. Calgary Crescent - Folkestone

4. Keyes Place - Folkestone

5. Wear Bay Road - Folkestone

6. Wear Bay Crescent - Folkestone

7. West Hougham

Detective Insp Sean Beautridge has said that the Police are focused on deterring and disrupting the activities of burglars.

PC Trevor Moody can be contacted on 07980 770583.

To report a crime which has already occurred please ring the Central Crime Reporting Unit 01622 690690.
