HAWKINGE CRICKET CLUB CATCHES £9,000 GRANT FROM KCC...

Hawkinge Cricket Club and the Lyminge Bowls club have each received grants from Kent County Council (KCC) as part of its Small Capital Grant Scheme for Sport.

KCC has allocated more than £71,000 to 10 sports organisations as part of its Small Capital Grant Scheme for Sport to help in the development of sports facilities in the county. Locally, Hawkinge Cricket Club received £9,000 and  Lyminge Bowls Club £3,500.

The money will be used by the groups to help residents and schools by providing sports grounds, multi-use games areas, equipment, changing facilities and improvements to disability access.

KCC Cabinet Member for Communities Mike Hill said: "The grants will go a great deal towards helping the local community enjoy a range of sports with improved facilities and equipment. I am pleased we are able to encourage more active and healthier lifestyles in Kent with this latest cash boost."
