PROTEST TO SAVE VILLAGE WOODLAND

Dear Ed,

Re the saga of Leaks Wood

On October 13th last year a letter was sent to G.P.Premises Ltd by the planning officer of Shepway stating very clearly that the application for development i.e doctors surgery could not be supported.

Reasons given were that the proposed site is protected from development, the proposed access in Mill Lane would only add to already existing traffic problems, and the number of trees to be felled for the building, car parking and proposed areas of grassland could not be said to provide the woodland setting promised.

Because of this letter and the very strong presentation of objection by the Hawkinge Civic Society the plans were withdrawn .

Sadly now again they have been re-presented without any changes whatsoever to the plans of last year.

I support The Hawkinge Society in their objection to this planning application and you can support them too by sending a letter of protest to the Shepway planning department  quoting the reference Y06/0863/SH

Many thanks for your time

Tony Hutt
