FOOTBALLERS RELIEF BEFORE KICK-OFF
Hawkinge parish councillors agreed last night (12 July) at their monthly meeting to pay for the rental of a portable toilet which will sited on the Hawkinge football ground before the first match of the season.
The match on the Hawkinge pitch is scheduled for 8 August.
Cllr Trice had proposed that the council buy one but Cllr Smith pointed out that there needed to be a maintenance agreement and insurance, without which the council could find themselves facing possible claims.
Councillors agreed to a short term rental of a portable toilet which would include the maintenance and insurance and they would look into the feasibility of purchasing one at a later date.
The meeting was told the estimated cost would be approximately £25 a week to rent or £400 to buy.
