THREE MEN RESCUED FROM SMALL DINGHY

Three 22-year-old men who were found in a small dinghy, along with numerous cans of beer, had to be rescued off the coast of Folkestone yesterday (11 July).

Coastguards have now renewed their warning about the dangers of alcohol at the seaside. A 16 year-old girl drowned last month after going into the sea after drinking with friends on the town's beach.

Dover Coastguard warned the public after that incident saying: "Our message is please don't drink and drown."

Watch officer at Dover Coastguard, Nicola Goodban said warnings about the dangers of drinking alcohol by the sea were clearly not getting through.
