CAREY STAYS SILENT THROUGHOUT SELSTED MEETING

Dear Ed,

For more than 3 hours in a packed meeting  at the Selsted Community Hall, Kent County Cllr Godfrey Horne from Tonbridge ably chaired the public meeting, hearing from many people the reasons why Selsted School should remain open.

The arguments and speakers were well thought out and marshalled by the Save Selsted School Action Group, and considering the emotive subject under debate the meeting went very smoothly.

Also in attendance were David Adams, the Area Education Officer, Dr. Ian Craig, Director of Education and County Councillor for this ward, Susan Carey. 

Despite the fact that she has had much to write on the subject of Selsted School`s potential demise to this site, she sat silent throughout the whole meeting and was not a member of the KCC Panel despite being the Lead Member for Education.
