There has been a recent wave in property break-ins within Hawkinge over the last couple of weeks.  The burglaries have taken place during daylight mostly via the rear of the property. 

I have also been informed o­n separate occasions, not o­nly in Hawkinge that patio door keys have been taken/stolen whilst hanging in the door.  This is quite concerning as the properties can be broken into at a later date with use of the keys. 

Could I urge people to be more vigilant in locking doors, gates etc to properties to avoid becoming a victim of crime.

I have been made aware of older youths congregating in the Children's Play Area in Heron Forstal Avenue.  The play area is for the younge, smaller children who are unable to use it when the older youths are congregating.  There has also been a lot of graffiti on the play equipment, some very in-appropriate for younger children to see,  I have had this removed and the problem is being monitored.

Dog fouling - certain areas have been causing a number of complaints regarding dog owners failing to act responsibly when their dogs foul.  Shepway District Council  Wardens are out and about in the area, they will issue fixed penalties for this offence. 

The Dog fouling bins purchased by the Hawkinge Partnership are due to be put around Hawkinge in July I have been informed.
