POLICE INTERCEPT MISSILE BOUND FOR DOVER

Port of Calais

Police in France have discovered a 15ft long missile on a lorry bound for Dover during a security check at Calais on Monday (29 May).

French terrorist police were last night inspecting the 1½ ton anti-aircraft weapon.

But the Italian driver of the lorry who was being quizzed by the French Security Services claimed it had been authorised by an agent in London.

It has been reported that French authorities have invoked emergency powers which were drawn up to deal with the threat of terrorist attack.
