Re: Object to the Spitfire leisuredrome plans

I totally agree with the comments made re the plans to demolish the Spitfire Leisuredrome and build more houses.

Hasn't there been enough building o­n the Aerodrome? What next, maybe this insensitive and greedy Parish Council will try and close the museum so some developer can erect yet more houses.

What about the memorial which is in front of the Hall? Can it legally be moved?

If there is an organisation out there willing to make use of it why not let them have it, if I remember rightly the roof was o­nly replaced a few years ago.

Before long Hawkinge will be long forgotten as an old RAF base.

If it wasn't for the Museum and the 'Cat and Custard' Pot pub then the likes of Pentland, Matthew, Wimpy, Wilcon, Mclean will end up wiping out the history associated with Hawkinge!
