HAWKINGE CRIME UPDATE 

Crime rates continue to fall in Hawkinge and there is little to report this week.

A company vehicle parked in Page Road, had its windscreen smashed with the frame of a road sign on Saturday 10June.

And also in Page Road, a tree was sawn down.

There continues to be problems with motorcyclists who are using the woods between The Street and Mill Lane. Riders could face a section 59 notice being served on them. Under the law motorcycles can be confiscated and destroyed.

In reply to questions about speeding and drivers using mobile phones, PC Trevor Moody has informed the Gazette, that there are regular ongoing speed checks in the village, which include Mill Lane and The Street.

PC Moody said: "I will be investigating reports of more trees damaged near to the Lidl store and also in Page Road.  I am appealing to everyone to report these matters to me as well as reporting anything suspicious, no matter how silly you may think it is".
