NEW CHANNEL FAST FERRY STUCK IN AMERICA

Fast Ferry Spirit of Ontario which has been bought by the new English Channel operator Euroferries remains in the Port of Rochester in the US, three weeks after it was sold.

Part of the delay is due to negotiations between Euroferries and the ferry's engine builders over transferring the engine warranties, but another reason why the ferry is still in the port is that it still doesn't have a place to dock in England.

Euroferries needs a place to dock the boat in England and according to the Port of Dover in England, there is no signed agreement in place. Until an agreement is reached the ferry could stay put.

And now there's the fight in England over who is going to be the first to run ferry service across the English Channel.

In Monday's edition of Lloyd's List, there was a war of words between fast ferry rivals; Euroferries and Navmed's John Paul Airs, who said, "So, they might have got the Spirit of ontario, but I have got backers who are very, very big."

Despite both wanting to start this month, the article reported that neither company have a booking system on their websites or elsewhere.
