Private Pike: But please sir, it's just not true

Captain Mainwaring: How are you so sure it's not true Pike?

Private Pike:  Because I'm a Parish Councillor sir and I can say that we have never discussed such a scheme.  If you had come to our meetings you would know what I am saying is true and, anyway, you o­nly have the check the official minutes and you will see that I am telling the truth.
