I HOPE THE EDUCATION AUTHORITY HAS A LARGE TRANSPORT BUDGET

Dear Ed,

With regards to Ms Careys comments (13.05.05), she states that few children live near the school.

We chose this school because it is a Church school and are prepared to travel to it.

The nearer schools in Hawkinge are not church schools. By closing Selsted we will have to travel even further to get to a school.

Ms Carey also states that there are other small and church schools in the area so there is still a choice.  Perhaps there are, but I can assure you that they will not be able to accommodate all our children.

I have two children in Year 3 and I believe there are no spaces at the other church schools - or indeed the Churchill School, for them.

If Selsted closes will we be expected to travel to a Folkestone or Cheriton Schools, or perhaps an Ashford School (David Adams advised me there were vacancies at Stowting!) if so I hope the Education authority has a large transport budget to take our children each day.

Kate Richmond
