KEEP YOUR DITTY CLEAN

The countdown to the big village clean-up on Saturday (8 April) has begun and already calls pledging help are coming through.

To add a little fun to the event, clean-up co-ordinator Cyril Trice would like everyone to try to come up with a little ditty to mark the occasion.

He suggests a nursery rhyme theme such as, 'A hunting we will go, for litter, high and low'. Or maybe a play on Peter Piper with, 'People picked a piece of paper, a piece of paper people picked'.

Of course, you can be as imaginative as you like, but in view of the event, it would be appreciated if they can be kept 'clean'.

The best ditty could be in line for a prize too, so get thinking and send yours to Cyril Trice cytrice@yahoo.com.

To take part in the Hawkinge village clean up, just turn up at the Hawkinge Community Centre on Saturday 8 April at 9.00am. Bags will be provided but you should wear some suitable clothing and bring some gloves.
