TOUGH BUT NOT SO CLOSE ENCOUNTER

By Cyril Trice

The Hawkinge U15's were away to Eythorne Rovers this week facing a tough encounter.

Unbeaten Eythorne have been sitting at the top of the league all season but even a spirited performance by the in form Hawkinge lads was not enough to dent the top team's record.

As a consolation, Olly Davies did penetrate their defence to deny Rovers a clean sheet and score Hawkinge's only goal.

The Sunday Morning team's game against Brewary Tap was  a casualty of the cold weather and was called off due to a frozen pitch.
