CAST OF HUNDREDS LINE UP FOR COMMUNITY SHOW
 
Over 500 local people from East Kent attended auditions for the Marlowe Theatre's Easter Community Show - and they've all landed a part!
 
The Wizard of Oz will be performed by the massive cast from April 13 - 23,  with a little bit of help from Boyzone star Stephen Gately as Scarecrow and Dave Lee as Cowardly Lion. Several local perfromers have landed main roles, including Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz.
 
Director Sarah Dean said: "The standard of audition this year was extremely high, and we had a tough job deciding who to choose for the principal roles. Because so many people want to take part we have to divide the cast into 'teams', and rotate the teams through all the performances. It's a very complicated operation!"
 
People hoping to see Stephen Gately in action are warned that he and the other professional performers will not be appearing at the 10.30am shows o­n Saturday 15 and Saturday 22 of April. The parts will be taken by local understudies for these shows.
