NEW SUPERFERRY FOR CHANNEL ROUTE

Maesk Delft

The latest Norfolkline ferry has arrived in Dover. It will begin taking passengers on March 5.

The Maesk Delft is the second of Norfolkline's new superferries and will enable the company to make 12 sailings a day from Dover to Dunkirk.

The ship was built by Samsung Shipbuilding in Korea and is the second of three new vessels built for Norfolkline. The final named Maesk Dover is still under construction and is scheduled to begin operating in July 2006.

The 34,500 tonne vessel can carry 780 passengers, 200 cars and 120 trucks.
