6th Century pendant

A 6th Century pendant which was stolen recently could be offered for sale.

It was in a van that was stolen from the person who found the ancient artefact. It is likely that the person who stole the van has no particular knowledge of small finds and doesn't realise what he has.

The pendant is fully recorded in the PAS database (KENT-CC59C7) and so if this find does surface it will be easily recognised.

The pendant is garnet-inlaid with some gilding and may be in a bag that says what it is. The thief/thieves may think it is worth money and try to sell it to a museum, a dealer, or even on eBay.

This is the only one of its kind ever found in Kent.
