It was music to their ears as hundreds of people gathered at the Leas Bandstand to celebrate it's re-opening on Friday (15 December).

Although it had its share of problems raising funds to renovate the historic building, that can now be put behind it and the people of Folkestone will again be able to enjoy the frequent concerts.

The Bandstand built in 1895 was dismantled in the summer and restored by a company specialising in architectural metalwork and restoration. The work was completed on schedule.
