NOT WRONG ABOUT THE TONE OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

Well I am not too sure what has been spent o­n the Leisuredrome, but no doubt the cash was spent in dribs and drabs so no essential maintenance was ever actually done, I may be wrong and I apologise for that if I am.

What I am not wrong about was the tone of the Parish Council Meeting held last Wednesday. If I was not mistaken the Parish Council was out of control on it's spending and it appeared to me that councillors were possibly spending our money without authorisation. The payment of lunches for jobs in lieu springs to mind !  Moreover it was the attitude that some councillors gave to the spending of public money, saying that "It's only the ratepayers money". I regard these remarks as flippant and unprofessional.

It would appear that the Football Club seems to have a steady cash flow of up to £1500 from the Parish Council, however, when the Community Warden wanted £250 funding to stage an event there seemed to be much discussion as to whether it was too much money.

Planning matters worry me to the extent that most councillors give little regard to the possible erection of a phone transmitter in Killing Wood. The planning application almost sailed through without opposition with councillors saying "well we all use mobiles."

Thankfully the Chairman saw sense and passed over the application for further detail.
