YOU'RE MISSING THE POINT COUNCILLOR

Re: "Jaundiced view of the processes of Shepway District Council"

Cllr. Hogben is missing the point entirely.

Our stance is not about whether the Spitfire Leisuredrome application should be granted or not, but if Shepway's Chief Executive had any powers under Shepway's constitution to `instruct` the development Control Committee to hear the application again o­nce it had been determined.

As we have said before, this potentially has massive implications for the whole of the `quasi-judicial` process at Shepway District Council for everyone, not just Hawkinge Parish Council.

Had we failed to bring this matter into the public domain then we would have been in dereliction of our duty as Councillors.

Something for which we don't need someone's permission to do.
