LOCAL POLICING?

Dear Ed,

Re Village warden news

"CRIME - Over the weekend (11-12 November) there were a number of incidents of vandalism.

A sign at the rear of the village hall was smashed and beer cans were strewn over the village hall and community centre car parks, while on the opposite side of the road, Hawkinge school had a double glazed window smashed.

In Webster Way, pots and plants were vandalised on both Saturday and Sunday."

The above was posted by our local warden. So the question is....

Where was our local community Police Officer at the weekend? The Kebab Shop? The Chinese? The Indian?

Being a weekend isn't it rather obvious that there will be more groups of youths 'hanging' around than normal. If you see where the incidences of vandalism took place do you think it was too far away from the centre of the village for maybe our local 'bobby' to have a patrol round. Maybe he didn't want to get out of his nice warm car.

Can anyone on here say when they last saw the local 'bobby' walking around the estates?

I can't and I have lived here for 11 years.
