FOLKESTONE CAMERA CLUB

Our new season has begun with a vengeance, with some new members joining us. We have so far had several interesting evenings including audio visuals, slide/documentary and a digital tutorial. Sometimes one particular evening may not suite a new member as we, naturally have to cater for all aspects of photography, so we do encourage any potential new members to come along for several weeks before deciding whether to join us or not, they will then see the variety of interesting evenings we have to offer. So if you have come along to one evening and found it not in your interest, do please come again and maybe next time it will be more interesting for you. 

Our first digital image competition of the season was held recently and Mr Frank Page LRPS, LMPA,. a Premier judge returned to our club to judge the entries. Frank is a very experienced photographer and judge and he gave us very constructive comments on our entries.

As the numbers of entries above show, the digital age is well and truly upon us now, the slide entries are now minimal. 

On 17th October we had our very successful, monthly, PRACTICAL EVENING, where members came along and were given the opportunity to practice with our studio lighting and enjoy a more informal evening of photography.

Our meeting on 23rd October will be our first Print Competition of the season and the following week a talk by RICHARD WALTON FRPS AFIAP MPAGB, BPE3*"AS I SEE IT" The latest work of this entertaining and excellent photographer as the letters after his name show. The 6th November we will have a tribute to KAY HOLLIS a past member who kindly left all her slides to our club in her will. This evening we visit Australasia & Asia with pitures Kay took on her worldwide travels.
