KICKING OFF THE NEW YEAR IN FINE FORM

Kicking off the New Year, the Hawkinge under 15's are continuing there fine form seen before the Christmas break.

They met up with Monkton Youth Colts in a league match on a pitch that had already taking a battering from the Sunday Senior side.

The steady fall of rain and the pitch conditions brought out the best in the Hawkinge youngsters as they pressed home three good goals to win the match.

The Sunday side were drawn against Farriers Athletic from Deal in the 4th Round of the Kent FA Division Four, Sunday Cup Competition.

This was a tightly fought game with Hawkinge nearly clinching the winner with just 2 minutes of full time remaining, but the Farriers fought back to score again making it 2-2.

Extra time was played with each side scoring a further goal apiece but the draw now means a replay next week.
