MILL LANE ACTIVITIES

Dear Ed

Hello Festina and anyone else who missed out on the activities in Mill Lane last Wednesday.

A gang of contractors arrived with various items including a chain saw.

When challenged and asked if they were private contractors or from the Council replied "they were there from the authorities" and began to cut down young trees.

When questioned further the reply was "It's for soil samples." when it was mentioned that the planning application was not due to be heard for at least 2 weeks the foreman said: "It's a forgone conclusion".

Help was duly summoned and the Council and Folkestone Herald contacted.

In the meantime a JCB arrived and spent some time trying to force its way into the wood,

The Cavalry arrived just in time in the shape of two charming, amazingly efficient officers (ladies) from the Environmental Health Department who threatened them with arrest by the Police.

The baddies all went away but sadly, live to fight another day.

Keep spreading the word.

Toots

P.S. for Festina,

The only trouble with Swampy is that he never knows when its time to go home!
