CYCLE THEFT EPIDEMIC

Neighbourhood Watch are warning villagers of a number of thefts of pedal cycles in Hawkinge recently.

A silver and black Saracens mens bike was stolen from Heyford Close between end of July and 5th August.  A 24 gear silver and black mountain bike was stolen from outside Tescos at 07.15am on Tuesday morning  9th August, and then overnight Wednesday Thursday, 10th and 11th August 3 bicycles, including a childs bike were stolen from the rear of a property in Gilman Close.

Neighbourhood Watch advise you make sure that villagers secure bikes and other property, even if they are left in the rear gardens. Ensure that if there is more than one they are chained together and even if there is just a single bike, make sure it is secure and that gates are locked shut overnight.

There was a burglary in St. Michaels Walk in the early hours of last Wednesday 10th and 11th August when a number of items were stolen.

If you have any information on these crimes please contact PC Moody.  He can be contacted on 07980 770 583.
