NO PARTNERSHIP WITH US VOTE BY PARISH COUNCILLORS

A document setting out a framework for the Parish Council and the Hawkinge Partnership to work together has been thrown out by councillors at yesterday's Parish Council meeting (10 August).

This is despite it being drawn up with the collaboration of the Chairman of Hawkinge Parish council David Callahan and the Clerk to the Council Beryl Hardy, with Partnership boss Deirdre Ferguson.

Deirdre said that she was dissappointed with the decision to reject the document but has vowed to continue to find a way of working with the council.

She is now awaiting a reply from the Parish Council detailing the points they were unable to accept.

Parish Council Chairman David Callahan was shocked that some fellow councillors voted to reject the document and is arranging for a reply to the Partnership be drafted as a matter of urgency.
