PRINCE UNVEILS BATTLE OF BRITAIN MONUMENT

A new monument honouring the 2,927 pilots who flew in the Battle of Britain has been unveiled at Capel le Ferne.

The ceremony which coincided  with the annual memorial day at the Battle of Britain Memorial was carried out at the Christopher Foxley-Norris Wall by HRH Prince Michael of Kent.

The monument consists of 15 standing panels which have the pilots' names inscribed o­n them.

The man the memorial is named after, the late Sir Christopher Foxley-Norris was a Hurricane pilot and chairman of the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust.
