MASSIVE MAZE FOR SHEPWAY TO CELEBRATE SEA BRITAIN

A spectacular new attraction in the shape of a giant galleon maze to celebrate Sea Britain 2005 opens at St Mary’s Road, Dymchurch on the 15th July.

Set in 6 acres of cornfield and featuring more than 2 miles of pathways, a lookout tower and a bridge, the Giant Marsh Maize Maze is the work of Adrian Fisher - the world’s leading maze designer.

Adrian, who also designed the world's first maize maze back in 1983 - has created more than 500 mazes in over 25 countries worldwide but the giant marsh Maize maze will be the only one of its kind in Kent.

Stephen Furnival, who owns the maize maze, said: “This is one of the most beautiful and challenging maze designs we have ever seen and we’re sure that it will provide hours of fun and entertainment for visitors of all ages.

“Corn mazes seem to hold an almost magical fascination for people, particularly our younger visitors who love solving the various clues.

The maize which was sown in May, is growing approximately one inch each day, when it closes in September it will tower six feet over its intrepid visitors!

Despite its spectacular dimensions the Giant marsh Maize Maze will only have a short life, in mid September it will be harvested as silage, and fed to the farm’s herd of milking cows.

The Giant marsh Maize Maze, at St Mary’s Road, Dymchurch will be open from 15th July – 4th September.  Daily from 10.30 – 5.30pm (last entry 4.30pm).
