Free events for the kids in August

FREE EVENTS FOR THE KIDS IN AUGUST

Monday 1 August 

The European-funded Boot Attitude programme rolls in Folkestone on Monday with The Magic Roundabout Art Workshop from the Whole Hog Arts Group and basketball workshops.

The Magic Roundabout Workshops take place at 12.30 and 3.30pm and are suitable for children aged five and over. Basketball workshops take place at 12 noon and 3.00pm and are suitable for children 11 and over.

All events take place on The Leas, by the bandstand and are free.

Tuesday 2 August

The Theatrical Effects Makeup group is holding dance and drama workshops on The Leas at Folkestone as part of the European-funded Book Attitude programme. There will also be a presentation of Vacances en France with the Stop All the Clocks theatre group.

The workshops take place at 12.30pm and 3.30pm with performances of Vacances en France at 12noon, 2.30pm and 4.00pm

Events are free and suitable for children aged five and over.

Wednesday 3 August

Juggling, plate spinning and other circus and performance skills are coming to The Leas at Folkestone with two workshops presented by Bright FX Circus. The workshops will be held at 12.30pm and 3.30pm. There will also be folktales, myths and legends with storyteller Richard in Was it Something I Said? at 12 noon, 2.30pm and 4.00pm. It’s all part of the European-funded Book Attitude programme.

All events are free and suitable for children aged six and over.

Thursday 4 August

Music and petanque rub shoulders at The Leas in Folkestone as part of the European-funded Boot Attitude programme. Music and DJ works shops presented by DefCon Productions with The Desicrew run from 12 noon. Petanque competitions for the under 12s run from 2.00pm.

 All events are free.

Friday 5 August

Traditional games come to The Leas at Folkestone as part of the European-funded Book Attitude project. Presented by French company, Wellouej, the workshops run at 12.20pm and 3.30pm and are suitable for children aged five and over. There will also be a petanque competition for children aged 12 and over. 

All events are free.
