NO EVIDENCE OF INCREASED THREAT TO SHOPPING CENTRE SAY POLICE

Kent Police have said they are aware of an alarming but totally unfounded rumour circulating by email and text message relating to the Bluewater shopping centre.

However, they say there is no evidence of any increased threat at the moment.

The email and text message currently circulating relate to rumours that appear to stem from a report by a woman in south London who claims she dreamt about an incident at Bluewater.

Kent Police confirm  they regularly reassess the risk to high profile sites in Kent that attract large numbers of people. This includes Bluewater, as one of Europe’s largest shopping centres, with which they have a close working relationship.

They say there is no reason to believe there is a specific threat at this time, but in common with police forces across Britain, they are  urging everyone to stay alert following last week’s bombings in London.
