FARMERS' MARKET REAPS PUBLICITY HARVEST

BBC Radio Kent will be recording a programme for the Afternoon Show at the Capel le Ferne farmers market o­n 19 July.

Jenny Barraclough who helps organise the market said: “We have been honoured by winning the Kent Life Magazine Best Farmers Market in Kent 2004 Award along with the Kent Technology and Enterprise Award 2004.  Along the way we have also been featured in a Countryfile episode for BBC, and featured o­n Radio Kent.

“The success of the market has been the result of a lot of hard work, but it has reaped rewards, not just for the money raised for the maintenance of the hall, but also for a service for the community.

“We have approximately 20 stalls per week.  Customers enjoy a little banter with the stallholders, and can actually talk to the producer, which is a great advantage knowing where and how it was produced.â€?

The Farmers market operates ever Tuesday at Capel le Ferne village hall from 10.00am to 1.00pm.
