WHAT HAVE THE ROMANS EVER DONE FOR US?

Over a thousand children from all over Kent are descending on Dover to learn all about what the Romans did for us.

Dover Museum is turning back the march of time for the annual Roman Festival and visitors are getting dressed up in robes and togas and period costumes for the occasion.

Students from South Kent College will be on hand to style hair and apply theatrical make-up. Schools will be taking part in drama workshops and learning all about life in Roman times.

Children from more than 25 different schools in Kent and Surrey, and a group from London, are attending the festival, which is sponsored by Pfizer and held at the Museum over four days from 14th to 17th June.

Kim Norton, Education Officer, said: 'The Museum's festival days are a terrific way to bring history to life for children. The Festival continues to go from strength to strength and we are looking forward to another successful event."
