PORT COULD BE SELLING CHEAP BOOZE AND TOBACCO

The Port of Dover should be turned into the world's first low duty trading zone where tobacco and booze could be bought at knock down prices, according to the Hoverspeed ferry company.

They want  ferry travellers to be able to pre-order goods and collect them on their return journey.

The company which won a recent court case against HM Customs and Excise  after claiming its passengers were unfairly targeted  believes its scheme would help clear up issues of cross-Channel shopping limits.
