SHEPWAY RAIL TUNNELS CLOSED

Commuters travelling between Folkestone Central and Dover Priory are facing months of disruption while the railway line between two towns is closed for repairs.

The 160 years old Martello, Shakespeare and Abbotscliffe tunnels are being waterproofed and the line will also have its track renewed. The line will be closed from 2 May until 4 September.

South Eastern Trains is providing a replacement bus service scheduled to run every 15 minutes at peak times. The journey should take 20 minutes.
