Dear Member,

It was so nice to see many of you at the recent AGM when our Treasurer announced an increase in funds and the membership. D. Bateman, Y. Parry and L. Tearle were re-elected to serve a further 3-year term of office.

This year’s programme of events agreed last February by both the French and English Committee’s commences on Friday 20th May, finishing on Sunday 22nd May when 23 visitors from Aviron will be descending on us. They will arrive about 9.00pm to the house of Mr & Mrs Roberts at Smersole Farm. During Saturday an extensive tour of Dover Castle will take place accompanied by a picnic, followed in the evening by a 4-course dinner with wine at Stelling Minnis Village Hall. Price £15.00 per ticket. All most welcome.

On Sunday, proceedings will commence with a BBQ at Stelling Minnis Windmill at 12 noon followed by a tour of the Minnis and the Windmill finishing with a cream tea at 5.00pm after which our guests will depart.

In June 12 pupils from Selsted School with staff will spend 5 days in Aviron, guests of the Aviron Primary School.

This year our visit to Aviron will take place on 9th, 10th and 11th September departing at approximately mid-day on the Friday. Saturday will see us visiting the wine-growing region of the Loire Valley, whilst Sunday will be spent relaxing en-famille and at their annual village fete.

This year’s programme is different from previous one’s whereas it has been extended by a day so that a more convivial and relaxing time can be had by all. We hope to see you all soon.

The Treasurer would like to remind everyone that the Annual Membership is now due. £5.00 per individual or £10.00 per family.
