SERIES OF CRASHES CLOSES A20
Forty six vehicles have today (19 May) been involved in a series of crashes in thick fog on the A20 between Dover and Folkestone
The crashes happened just after 6.00pm between the Roundhill Tunnel near Hawkinge and the Aycliff Roundabout in Dover in an area which is often affected by thick fog.
Firefighters helped to free many drivers from their vehicles, although it is not thought there were any serious injuries. It was reported that 11 people were taken to hospital.
The collisions happened on both carriageways, which were still closed in both directions at 11.00pm while debris was being cleared.
