VILLAGE HALL FOR SALE?
I was somewhat surprised to be asked today: "How much did the Village Hall go for?"
Shrugging my shoulders I thought,: "What have I missed, no-one has told the Gazette anything about this."
"It's all over the village," I was told.
"There was a sign at the bottom of White Horse Hill on Saturday saying Village Hall Auction, viewing today.
"And on Sunday the sign said Village Hall Auction today."
The wording was just a tad ambiguous, when it really meant Auction IN the Village Hall.
A bit like some of our headlines. Panic over!
